Regiment

Every morning and night

There is something consistent

I used to fight it

Though now I never miss it

A pill organizer sits in the cabinet to the left of my sink

A small black knob I’ve grown accustomed to helps my unstable tendencies shrink

I feel most at ease to be honest

Once I’ve washed down the final gulp

My heart starts to race a little less

I head to work or my pillow rather than elsewhere distressed

The highs and the lows that would at times poison my life

Through an abundance of trial and error I’ve managed to get the dosage right

I will continue the regiment that helps keep my brainwaves aligned

In order to keep the unique chemistry stable that resides in my mind
